Subclass 462TemporaryVisitor

Work and Holiday visa

Allows young people from eligible countries to work and holiday in Australia for up to a year.

Overview

Subclass 462

Work and Holiday

For young adults who want an extended holiday and to work here to fund it

Basic Eligibility

  • Must be 18 to 30 years old (inclusive)
  • Must have a passport from an eligible country
  • Must not be accompanied by dependent children

Important information

If you hold a Working Holiday Maker (WHM) visa (subclass 417 or 462) and we grant you another visa, your WHM visa will end. This includes visas such as an eVisitor (subclass 651) or Transit (subclass 771), which will cause your WHM visa to cease on the date the new visa is granted. This could stop you from working in Australia. It may also affect your ability to apply for another WHM visa. See 417 - When you have this visa or 462 - When you have this visa.

You must declare your current location correctly on your visa application form. We may not be able to grant your visa if your location is incorrect.
